High-Speed Train London to Bordeaux
Bordeaux is a city with a lot going for it and if you've never been, it's well worth a visit. There is a rumour that rail passengers might soon be able to travel from London to Bordeaux in under 5 hours as talks continue to run a direct service between the two cities that by-passes Paris. Rail firms in France and the UK have agreed on plans to develop the project using the completed high-speed rail link south of Tours. Project planners estimate the route to be operational in less than two years. Find out more about Bordeaux here:
The new route won't be up and running in time this year, but thousands of visitors will be heading to the city for the annual 'Fête le Vin' where winemakers set up their wares along a 3km stretch of the River Garonne. There's no shortage of wine-tasting opportunities with pop-up bars and stalls a plenty, and of course, it would not be a french fête without some fantastic food stalls to keep your energy levels up, especially if you've got all those wines to try.
