Location:

The house is situated in a prominent position, surrounded by the garden, set away from the nearest road.  The nearest shops are in the lovely town of Mortain where there is a good range of amenities, including a very good bakery and restaurant as well as a good selection of shops.  There’s also plenty of interest for tourist visitors.  The Grand Cascade of Mortain, aka ‘the biggest waterfall in the west’ is particularly popular and there are plenty of walking routes and rock climbing.  Talking of biking, the  voie Verte cycle route network is easily accessible, so day-trips on two wheels are very easy to arrange.

The larger town of Vire is about 20mins from the property should you need any of the larger shops or supplies.  Major towns such as Domfront, Avranches, St Lo, Falaise, Bayeux and Honfleur are all within easy reach.  Caen / Ouistreham and St Malo ferry ports are equidistant and the beach is just under an hour away.
