The nearby village of Gensac is a very pretty and there is a good selection of shops, a bank, bakery, doctor, medical centre, schools, chemist and tabac.  There is also a small weekly fresh produce market and Gensac is also home to a couple of well-regarded restaurants.  It's just a couple of kilometres from the Dordogne river and there are also three leisure lakes nearby.  If you're a keen tennis player, there are courts available and there is an active tennis club.
